Fic for April

  1. The Cooling Year
    BSG, PG-13, ~500 words. Gen.
Try as she will the trackless world delivers/No way, the wilderness of light no sign
  2. Greece Sees Unmoved
    BSG, R, ~3000 words. Kara/Leoben, Kara/Six.
Greece sees unmoved/God's daughter, born of love
  3. When God closes a door, he always leaves a window open
    Due South, NC-17, 1561 words. Ray K./Stella.
Breaking up is something they've always been great at. Making it stick takes another skill set entirely.
  4. Honey let me heal it
    SPN, PG-13, ~400 words. Jo/Dean.
    "Pretty hot, huh?"
Which, overall, is not too bad, considering I've been in a bit of a dry patch lately. So. \o/

*waves*

I wish crossposting were easier from my computer. :( I miss you guys.

Let's see. I seem to have fallen hard for BSG -- I don't know either -- and I am working on my senior thesis. And I had a really unnerving dream the other night, which was so unspeakably dorky and yet depressing that I can't even. And I am in the process of applying to various police departments.

Oct. 25th, 2007

Oh my god I am so fucking tired. I have had about three hours of sleep in the past...it's five now, so three hours of sleep in the past twenty-nine. When I put it like that, the tired actually makes a lot more sense.

On the one hand, I feel guilty for not making Doug dinner and being a good legal guardian. On the other hand, he's been spending most evenings at friends' houses, and gets fed there, plus we've got plenty of microwaveable meals and leftovers (including some kick-ass chili I made the other night). Plus, tired.1

But I got my orientation today, and I start at UPS 3:45 Tuesday morning. I need to get work boots.

Unrelatedly, LOOK I HAVE A BUFFY/GILES ICON. I am having a bit of a Buffy/Giles rennaissance right now. I love them so much. I hate 98% of the fannish content and meta on the pairing, because oh my god the heteronormality and they often don't treat Buffy all that much better than most of the Spuffy shippers do2 but I still love that pairing so much. It is quite probably my eternal OTP. And Season Eight spoiler ) Maybe I'll go rewatch some episodes of S5, in which they are SO CLEARLY DOING IT.

1. I also bought him what was called a "tobacco pipe" at the shop -- AHAHAHA SO MANY LULZ -- making me "the best legal guardian ever", but that's neither here nor there.

2. Seriously, even Harmonians and Batchippers don't disturb me the way the majority of Buffy/Male Character X shippers do, because while they may trash every single female character except the one in their pairing, at least they don't trash her. Whereas the majority of Buffy/Male Character X shippers seem to spend much of their time talking about how horrible Buffy is and how she lucky she is that Male Character X keeps coming back. Spuffy is the worst, but it shows up in Buffy/Giles a lot, too.

Your replacement was getting tired.

I have to get up at four tomorrow, probably, to take Mom and Dad to the airport. In honor of this, I am skipping work. \o/ And possibly school as well, since we have only one car and the form that authorized me to make decisions regarding Doug in case of emergency has vanished, so we'll have to get another one and get it notarized this evening if we don't find it in the next, like, twenty minutes.

I managed to find someone to cover my shift at work, though, and she needed someone to cover her for a shift in November, so that all worked out, at least. But I've also got to read a bunch of articles and put together my annotated bibliography for my Atlantic paper and WHAT NO I'M NOT STRESSED.

*flail*

I'm actually not too bad, honestly. A little flaily and kind of wanting to punch something to get rid of the excess energy, but Mom and I walked several miles earlier with various other errands that needed running, so I think one good punch and I'd be okay. Which, for me, is pretty good.

Actually, having said that, I've just remembered that I need to do more push-ups and sit-ups for today. \o/ So that's that problem solved.
